Missing England, Ireland, & Wales

In 2008 (if I recall correctly), I traveled to England, Ireland, and Wales with EF tours.  It was love at first sight. We were together for 9 days and it was a very quick split. I was completely in love and our break up was extremely hard. I tried to remove the memory from my life, but I just can't forget it. Oh England&Ireland&Wales, please come back to my life!

This weekend was relaxed for the most part. We worked a huge wedding at Spring Island.

Friday night, Justin and I went for a little Mexican dinner date. When he came to pick me up, he told me to open the passenger door and take a look. To my surprise, this is what I found!

Made from Sweet Tarts for me. He calls me his sweet tart lol. I just thought this was so cute and it had to be shared!

So sleepy........
Today was our biggest event of the year at Ashley Rhodes Events! It was so beautiful! Wish I only had my camera :( 


Since my energy is on low, tonight's post is simple. This is a shoot from when I first got my camera. I had to test it out, so of course I got Andrea and her friend to model for me!

Wacky Wednesday...

I know, lovely tacky titles this week right?! I had a needless to say weird day. Well, I mean the day itself wasn't weird but one thing was said today that kept me puzzled all day. 

No names to be said, and this isn't the first time (well, its the second time) but a "professional" degraded my work. I know this should be taken as a compliment, but I'm sort of taken back. I never started photography to be a professional or anything of that sort. I just do it because I absolutely love it. If someone wants me to take photos for them, then so be it. I do it because to me, it's fun! For a business owner to go and say something to someone (in writing might I add) just is kind of well, sad? I am just a measly 20 year old girl trying to get by. I've gone to journalism camp and I'm in the process of taking a class just to indulge myself in the knowledge of producing photographs. I don't do it to take away from any other person's business. With this all being said, I knew that somewhere there had to be a quote to summarize how I felt about the situation because I've just been so taken by the whole thing.

What you have to offer is your style and your personality. You'll never be able to duplicate someone's ability to capture photos. I think it's absolutely impossible. And I think it's great! Clients choose photographers based on that. If someone prefers one photographer over another, then that's the business. If they wanted you to do the photoshoot, then they would have called you, not me. Simple as that. It just doesn't make sense to me. I'm trying not to let it get to me, but some of the things this person said was just completely uncalled for. It kind of hurt me, but it was like a feel good hurt. For someone to go out of the way to tell my client that you could provide them something better is only showing your own insecurity. You can simply say that you don't like my style of work or whatever it is but don't go knocking everything I do and call me just a "free portrait setting" with an "entry level camera". Apparently, this person is not from this part of the woods, but around here, our momma's have taught us that if we have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all.


Thank you for fueling my fire :) Sorry for the vent sesh. Now, to more editing my "free portrait setting" photographs! The end result (to me) is going to be amazing! 


On to other things! My resume is done and ready for tomorrow! **Fingers crossed friends!** This girl needs some part time work! 
Since I showcased other beautiful wedding work earlier, I figured it was time for me to get around to editing and showing off some of my own details photos from weddings over the summer.

Pop of Bliss!

It is just the beginning of my day, and I"m not quite sure how its going yet. Like, I woke up to an email from my teacher saying class was cancelled (hooray!) but I'm beginning to stress about the rest of the week. 


With the toll of the winter coming, nobody wants to get married until the spring. So, I'm being given some time off from work, and lets face it. This girl has to work to live. That means two words: JOB HUNTING. Oh how I despise preparing resumes, dressing "the part", clammy hands at interviews, etc. I have a resume template pulled up on Word as I'm typing this. Luckily, one of my fantastic hospitality teachers is taking us on a work|field trip this weekend at Brays Island where he is giving me the opportunity to speak to someone about a part time job. **FINGERS CROSSES PLEASE!** 
As for the other part of my weekend, we have the biggest wedding of the year at Ashley Rhodes Events and I cannot be more excited to see the details. It's going to be very vintage and luxe. The bride and groom are from Manhattan and are providing only the best. I wish I could take my camera, but since it is such an expensive event and the photographer is amazing, I'll leave it at home and wait :( 


Wedding talk makes me so happy, I figured I'd post some bliss on the blog (also, because my SD card is broken and it leaves me photoless.)

Manic Monday

At last, I can see Tuesday from here! It has been an interesting day to say the least. It seems to me that lately, I've been having trouble sleeping. Last night I was writing my math paper and all of a sudden, fatigue kicked me. in. the. face! I had so much left to do and my brain completely shut down at like 10:30 pm. So I crawled up in bed and set my alarm for bright and early. Needless to say, the snooze button got the best of me, so I had to frantically write this 5 to 7 page paper about Roulette, which might I add, I had no idea about the darn game! Anyways, off to school I went. My air pressure light came on in my car on the way. Once I made it there, I stuck it out through my classes with no lunch then I was off to my doctor appointment! From there, I went to Lady's Island because my sweet boyfriend had to work on our anniversary (tomorrow we celebrate!) After a slice of pizza, I headed home. Oh what a day! 


So the one thing that could only absolutely make my day, would be to give you a sneak peek of the SRM Makeup Photo Shoot from the weekend! 
For this shoot, we wanted to showcase all sorts of different looks. Each girl was so sweet and helpful! So, for the mean time, I'm going to show one of each girl. It's so hard to just pick one!
