Sometimes it's a simple as...

... a beautiful sunrise.
Yesterday, I had to work the "Behind the Veil" Wedding show in Savannah for Ashley Rhodes Events. It was such a fun show! But pictures, and stories to come much later!
What I'm focusing on today is what I had to drive through to get there.
Set up was at 8 am, that means I had to meet Ashley in Beaufort at 7, which put me leaving my house at 6, waking up at 5:30. Granted, I was exhausted, but I had the most beautiful sight on my drive through.

A sunrise over the Broad River. Oh how my heart was crying for me to jump out of the car and take pictures, but I felt as if I was on a time crunch. Luckily (well in my case,) Ashley was running very late. I drove to the nearest water way area (which happened to be Dockside, this lovely restaurant on the river where boats dock). And I photographed my little heart out.

So is it just me? Or is that totally worth waking up super early for? It's so different than a sunset and I didn't expect it to be nearly as vibrant or as beautiful. I just guess I don't ever think of waking up to cotton candy skies.
As I was driving through, I text Justin (oops! no, not texting and driving. I was at a stop light) saying "I swear the sunrise is so much better than a sunset". "Agreed" he replied. I guess when he has to go to work at the wee hours of the morning he gets to experience the same thing.

It almost makes me want to be like a "sunrise chaser". You know like tornado chasers...well same concept but with a camera and just sunrises in different locations. Okay, maybe not a great profession, but I'll try to do it whenever the opportunity arises.

Well that's that.
Please don't forget the giveaway.

Today is your last  chance! So go  here and I will announce the winner tomorrow when I crawl (unwillingly) out of bed! Any comments time stamped after 12:00 am will not be considered.

Back to school work I go (unwillingly as well).
By loves!

Love Letter

Have you ever watched a movie or read a book and words just flowed beautifully? From time to time, I want to showcase (& research on my side) some love letters of the greats and some of the ordinary and expected (like the one I'm posting tonight). Love letters have such a significance in my life, since I was in middle school up to now. So my friends, instead of the fast & non existent posts I've been giving you, when I don't have the time to write out a fantastic post, you'll get a love letter! Oh I know you're devastated! Who knows, this even may be fun!

So tonight, my love letter comes from the movie & book "Message in a Bottle". As my mom and I were sitting here watching it, I got so inspired. So here it is. The first love letter of many to come.

Dear Catherine,
I'm sorry I haven 't talked to you in so long. I feel I've been lost...no bearings, no compass. I kept crashing into things, a little crazy, I guess. I've never been lost before. You were my true north. I could always steer for home when you were my home. Forgive me for being so angry when you left. I still think some mistake's been made...and I'm waiting for God to take it back. But I'm doing better now. The work helps me. Most of all, you help me. You came into my dream last night with that smile...that always held me like a lover...rocked me like a child. All I remember from the dream...is a feeling of peace. I woke up with that feeling...and tried to keep it alive as long as I could. I'm writing to tell you that I'm on a journey toward that peace. And to tell you l'm sorry about so many things. I'm sorry I didn 't take better care of you so you never spent a minute being cold or scared or sick. I'm sorry I didn't try harder to find the words to tell you what I was feeling. I'm sorry I never fixed the screen door. I fixed it now. I'm sorry I ever fought with you. I'm sorry I didn't apologize more. I was too proud. I'm sorry I didn't bring you more compliments on everything you wore and every way you fixed your hair. I'm sorry I didn't hold on to you with so much strength that even God couldn't pull you away.
All my love,
G

Beautiful!
Last night, Justin and I had a wonderful date! We indulged in one of our most favorite pastimes, Mexican! After a delish dinner, we then went to the movies to see "The Green Hornet" which surprised me. Much funnier than I expected! We were so over due and I'm so happy things are back to normal.

Don't forget: 2 more days! Until the giveaway will end! So get to commenting by going here! You won't want to miss out!

With all of my love ;)

Happy Friday!

Just wanted to start by saying "thank you" to everyone and their wonderful feedback from my last post. It's safe to say that Justin has just been swamped with classes. And thank Jesus, it ends today! That can only mean one thing: date night, tonight!
Whew! It's about time. We haven't exactly figured out where we're going or what we're doing. All we know is that we miss each other!

Anyways, on to other things...but I don't know exactly where to start! I guess for the first time, I'm pretty much at a loss of words so I guess I'll use this post to remind you all of my G I V E A W A Y!

Goodness, it ends on Sunday, and I've only had 3 people enter :(
Um, disappointing!

So just in case you haven't noticed, here is my giveaway!

C L I C K! ! !

So that's self explanatory :)

Well that's all for now darlings. Again, everything you said to me about my little rough spot was so very kind. Thank you!

Love,
Amy

What nobody talks about.

Hi friends.
I finally got my laptop back! It's so nice to have back and I have some photos to share with you but first, I've been pondering.

It seems as if all of these gorgeous couples here on the blogsphere never get into arguments or fights. Am I alone
It seems as if Justin and I have just been so stressed and exhausted these days to where it almost feels as if the love has been, well, forgotten? Okay, maybe forgotten is a little harsh but I'm just ready for a nice date, just the two of us. No argument and just big hugs. Or maybe we are the only ones that get into petty arguments. It's just something to think about. It's just been a rough week on the both of us. He's been in class on the Island all week (he's having to drive over an hour just to get to class). I've been in class all week. It's that time of the month. (Yuck) and on top of all of that, life is happening.

Well that's that, right?
Any ways, here are those fabulous photos I promised you! Kristen and I had a little photography date. She wanted to work on her portfolio some, and I just wanted to take some fun stuff! Needless to say, there was a lot of love :)

That's all for now.
Don't forget to go to the giveaway tab and enter! :D

Love you all!
Xoxo

It's been a while...

...since we went wild!

It seems as if I start these things the same way each time, but I mean it from the very bottom of my heart. I miss you guys!

I have been a very very bad blogger, shame shame! But within reason. My laptop died the day before my last post. It's been killing me in all aspects of my life. Sad to say, I pretty much come close to not being able to live without it. Yikes!
So we're still awaiting the news of whether it will make it through the clean up, or if it's lost forever. Keep your fingers crossed, please! Any ways, here's a little catch up of what I've been up to. Today's post is going to be short and sweet. I have a ton of homework and emails to do before I can really enjoy my "day off".

So this is what I've been up to!
1. Homework. Self explanatory.
2. Dinner dates. With my new best friend, Kristen.
3. Sleep. Yes, my dears, since I've been laptop less, it's much easier to crawl in bed then fight over this pc with my sister. So maybe this is a blessing in disguise!
4. Photography.
5. Speech. I gave my first speech of the semester yesterday. If I may say so myself, I'm super proud that first, I am actually getting up for an 8 o'clock class! Not to mention, that I'm actually prepared for it when it starts, and I even kinda like it!
6. School. Self explanatory dos.
7. Catching up. With friends, school, boyfriend, work, etc. Also, this is what I'm doing for you at the moment, duh! :)
8. Oh, best friend. Well, I'm missing my best friend right now while she's away at boot camp. Secondly, I think I'm making a new best friend too! :D
9. Eat. Pray. Love. I'm going to start watching as soon as I finish this post.
10. Family. I've been spending a lot of time with mine lately. Sad to say it, my younger sister has grown up really quickly in the past week. Sniff, sniff.
11. Cooking! Thanks to my new diet, I'm cooking up a storm! Today I made Justin and I these delicious carb-free salads! Yummy! Mine had chicken, bacon, cheese, lettuce, eggs, and a little bit of mayo on it. It wasn't half bad. Also, I've made myself breakfast so much lately. Cheers for good new eating habits!
12. Glee. My newest late night obsession along with Pretty Little Liars. Wow, I'm such a cool 20 year old!
21. Love, another self explanatory, but it's always in abundance!
22. Prom dress shopping. Yikes. My younger sister bought her first prom dress on Sunday. It's beautiful and it's perfect for her personality. I'm not going to post photos of it yet, because I want to wait until after prom so you can get everything. Oh, the tears I'm going to shed. She's just so grown up now. Not to mention, she went on her first college visit today. Booo hooo!
23. Daisy Love. Well, Daisy and I have been cuddled up trying to stay warm and dry today. It's yucky outside :(
24. Work. Work at Brays Island. Work at Ashley Rhodes Events. Work in photography. School work. Yucky, lots of work. But the first three are pretty fun!
25. Computer crash! Whew! It's completely devastated me that my computer has crashed. But it made me realize how special this blog is to me. By having it crash, I feared that I would never be able to get any of my photos back, but after looking back on this blog of mine, I realize that almost all of my photos are already on here! What a lifesaver!
26. Wedding. I'm gearing up for this wedding in April. I'm taking inspiration in every form at the moment and letting it soak in. I'm literally a wedding sponge!
27. Sister time. See 22.
28. No carb diet. I figured, with it being mid-January, it was time to do something with this extra bulge of mine. Kicking that fat to the curb! I'm not eating any carbs for a week and a half, then giving myself about 2 days of relief (slight relief, I mean) and then back to the diet. I know it's not the healthiest diet out there, but I've seen the results and I need to do a little something here. So I'm almost at the first week part, and it's looking good.
Well, that was definitely more than I expected!
Since y'all have been such loyal bloggy buddies, I figured it's time!

Always be fearless.

Finally! Whew, friends, it's sure been a while! All I know is that it's been quite a weekend + a few days.  Where did I leave off? I think I left you all waiting to see some of these fabulous "Trash the Dress" photos I did on Friday!
Well before I show those off, allow me to present to you something so close to my heart that just screams to me "I've made it!"

So here it is. Some things that came in the mail (together in the same day, might I add) and it made me so excited! So here it is ladies. I'm not so cute but these are!

Business License! Woo!
Can only be completed with business cards!

Wowie! What a huge step! I couldn't believe it when I finally got everything. It just made me feel established. Not a normal feeling for me!

So now to what you are all reading for: The Trash the Dress shoot!
Disclaimer: we shot in 30 degree weather (brr!) and it was a little too cold to really trash the dress per say. So instead of actually trashing it, we pretty much played dress up with it! It was an absolute blast. Let me tell you a little bit about my model.
Her name is Suryia. She is a true friend, a makeup artist, and so much fun! She and I are both always behind the camera (a lot, together) and she was a little camera shy at first. Once we started playing a little bit, she really turned it on and her photos turned out incredible! Her mottos is "always be fearless" and that's so true to Suryia's personality.
Okay, I know you're ready to see these! So here they are ladies!

I hope you love them all as much as I do!

By the way, my computer is SICK! It has a virus and it's going to get fixed tomorrow :( That's why it's taken me so long to post!

I miss you all darlings! But I have to get in bed, I'm exhausted.

Xoxo,
