A Little Sneaker ;)

Sneak Peek
that is!

Today I had the privilege of photographing one of the sweetest couples I've ever seen.
Love was just pouring out of their smiles the whole time we were shooting.
Granted, they had just gotten married, but you could tell that their love was one for the story books. The way the looked at each other and they were just so smitten.

Here are some of my favorites from the day!

Like I said, a completely beautiful, wonderful couple.
They had a small ceremony in a little square in Savannah, Georgia with only a minister and their best friends, Megan & Brian. Unfortunately, due to a fatal accident on the Savannah Bridge and ridiculous traffic delays, I missed the whole ceremony! And I was even running 45 minutes EARLY! But when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade, right? Well, I think these make this lemonade look pretty delicious!

I love weddings!

"Honey I love your love the most"

In response to my last post, this is yet another "V-day"-esque post. But definitely not the same "V-day" (despite I'm loving that V-day!, more on that in a few).

Justin and I have always always always sent each other good morning texts. His are the sweetest thing in this world. Lord help me if he reads this post because I just thought I'd brag on him for a second. Remember my "love letter" posts. Well this is like a "love text" post, but I actually receive these!

Here are a just a few of my favorites:

Feb. 13, 2011
"Good morning sweet tart. Happy our Valentine's Day. You are the best girlfriend. I love you very much. I can't wait for our date tonight. I miss you. You are everything to me. I love you forever and always."
November 23, 2010
"Good morning sweet tart. I love you so much words can't explain. You're the best girlfriend ever and I will always love you forever."
October 6, 2010
"Good morning sweet tart. I hope you have a great day today and remember I love you very very much because you're the best girlfriend a man could ask for."
I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful boyfriend!
He absolutely hates buying flowers, but this morning I found out the real reason why. He text me saying "I can't keep them more than one night" (He hasn't yet given them to me at this point). Apparently, he can't keep them from getting sick. I told him to treat them very nicely. They're delicate. He said he hates them because he can't keep them from looking sad. It's not always about how pretty the flowers are, its the thought that counts. Despite their sad-flower-syndrome, I can't wait to see them and that sweet man tonight!
We've both been super swamped these days. I've been all over the world and back it seems lately and so has he. We're seeing each other tonight for the first time in 3 or 4 days. I've lost count to be honest.
And to add to the excitement, we're doing our Valentine's day today too! I'll be in classes tomorrow from 8 to 8 (blahhhh!) so we're going to enjoy ourselves tonight. What are we doing you ask? Well, I have no clue! But he could fix me a peanut butter sandwich for dinner and just talk to me and I'd be a happy girl. But instead, I think our agenda has something to do with dinner and gifts :D

Sorry for bragging! I'm just so darn excited to see his face!

On to other "V-day" excitement.
This being "V-day" as in The Vagina Monologues!
I GOT THE PART!
I'm so very excited about it all! Going into it, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It's so neat though and I encourage anyone that has the opportunity to take it.
Friday night, we had a meeting|social gathering about the whole production. We watched a video that took us to the roots of the movement. It was incredibly sad to hear some of the stories. But I'm so exacted that doing this production will help women all over, especially the one's in Haiti that the money we raise will go to. I've never had so much fun talking about lady parts ;) It was a group of very diverse women! I'm not one to feel like I can make a huge difference, but I've always wanted to and doing this, I really feel like I am making somewhat of a difference in someones life! Join us in the fight against abuse & rape and let's all let women everywhere know that they are strong!

Okay, enough of my babble for today!

I love each and every one of you!
 Happy "V-day" in every way!

Happy Hump Day!

Hi friends!
WARNING: This post is going to be probably really random. I haven't given it too much thought, but I'm waiting for class to start, so I figured I'd catch you up.

Let's start with some fun inspiration for a Trash The Dress Shoot I have coming up. This inspiration is not really inspiration for the shoot per say, but its more of something I stumbled upon while in my search. Oh how I adore this photo.
Forget "Say Yes to the Dress" say "yes" to the man candy.

Next rambling. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my major? Hm?
Well, for those of you that don't know, I am a Hospitality Management major. Today's classes are : Food Sanitation, Managing Menu, Quantity Foods, and Wine&Spirits. YES!
The first three are classes that require me to work at a restaurant on the Island 5 times and then attend a few classes here and there and I only have 3 tests between the three. I love my major. And wine & spirits! What! I haven't gone to that class yet, but I start in an hour. Please wait for my review later.

On to rambling 3. Have you noticed my new little tabs up top? One night, I got to feeling very lovey dovey. Handsome & I had a great night and it lead me to curing my insomnia by writing my feelings of him out. Well more like our story.
Read Here
Click on the link to view the whole post, but I figured I'd at least post our little story today.

And so it goes,

The first time I laid eyes on Justin Collins Lane was the day after my 18th birthday. I had a huge party at my house the night of and everyone stayed, so naturally, we all loaded up in a truck and went to the local "mudrun". I was hungover sitting in a chair with a grey tanktop, new tattoo, a pair of sunglasses, cut off shorts and boots, and there he was, muscles and all. My friend had just finished talking to him and I asked her who he was? He was too handsome for words. She replied, "Justin, you know so-and-so's cousin." I felt something happen and I just knew one day we'd run into each other again.

Coincidentally, the next week, I ran into his little sister at a football game at school.
"You're pretty, you should date my brother," she said to me. I knew I'd definitely like to give it a shot. So he and I Myspace messaged each other (we still laugh about this to this day) and we set up a date the very night we started talking to each other.
I never knew that it would turn out to be the most memorable first date I've ever been on.
He picked me up at the school parking lot in his lifted Ford Ranger truck with lights and a whip-intenna. Whew, I knew I was about to get myself into some trouble. He got out of the truck, wearing a blue Dumas and Sons Polo, Carhart jeans, a black pair of duty boots, and that blue HCFR hat. Boy, was he cute.
As we were on our way to the Hilton Head Christian/Colleton Prep football game, I remember listening to his pager and radio go back and fourth and he showed me the lights in his truck and we began to get to know each other.
He was so easy to talk to...I knew we were going to have a good time. As we made our trip to Hilton Head, we stopped at the Exxon gas station in front of Target. His truck battery died. Justin went into the gas station, brought me out a diet coke without asking me if I wanted anything. Brownie points, despite the situation. He then made me walk to Target to buy some battery charger. As we were waiting for the battery to charge, I was sitting in his driver seat where he walked up to me, grabbed my face, and kissed me. I'm not one to kiss on the first date, but we had a moment.
After having some man drive him back to Target to buy jumper cables, we finally carried on to the football game.  Once we got to the game, we went our separate ways. I went to the Hilton Head Christian side, he went to the Colleton Prep side (his alma matter). I was sitting with my friend, when I received a text saying, "There is this pretty girl sitting on the other side. She's wearing a black tank top and has a tattoo on her shoulder. She's beautiful."
I knew then, there was no going back. After the game, our date lead to dinner at Wild Wings and a trip to Walmart. At Walmart, Justin showed his love for guns, bb guns that is. He bought one and swore to me that every time he buys a bb gun, he has to shoot whoever he is with. Before I had time to object, Justin shot me in the knee cap! How on Earth he ever survived to a second date, I'll never know. After our trip to Walmart, he dropped me back off at the school parking lot, where we talked for another hour or so.
To say the least, there was a second date. We watched Ladder 49, the movie that I watched over and over again with and without him. It made me fall...
We have a special relationship. It's fun all the time. He knows me like the back of his hand and  he always manages to catch me off guard. I've never been happier and more continent with where I am in life and I know he plays a huge role in that.

I believe that's all for now. I'm going to work on responding to everyone tonight when I get home from grocery shopping with mom.

Hope you all enjoy your "hump day". Take that however you will ;)
Xoxo,

My oh my, movies.

Do you ever feel like you were born into the wrong era? The world has been made up of so many magical periods in time. I'm most fascinated by the twenties. The best thing about movies is that they allow yourself to get so caught up in a time and place that you could never go back and be a part of. Tonight's feature:

Watching this movie takes me to a place somewhere deep in the south, where the music was good, and work was hard. When I'm watching it, I can close my eyes and just feel love
It reminds me that whenever you truly find love, to never give it up for any reason whatsoever. I live for a love that oozes out of two people. You can feel it in their smile and laughter and thats what Allie and Noah remind me of.

Boy did they know how to dress!

So much style and so much love. It makes me quiver. I just absolutely love it.

Just remember, whatever you do, follow your heart. I don't care what anyone says. Once you find true love, make sure you hold on to it.
Nicholas Sparks truly knows how to pull at my heartstrings.

In other movie notes,
The Black Swan.
Allow me to being by saying that this movie is completely different than most movies I watch, therefor, I was very surprised. It was good, don't get me wrong. And I liked it, but I won't be buying it. The metaphors were easy to realize once the movie was over. And it was very shocking for the most part. But I liked it, a lot. So I give the Black Swan 4 out of 5 stars. I could have done without some of the "scenes" in it though!

Sorry my posts have been so random lately. I'm inbetween editing two photo sessions and gearing up for the next semester in school which starts next MONDAY! Yikes!
Love to you all!
I promise next post will be great!
XoXo

And remember:
"Well that's what we do. We fight. You tell me when I'm being an arrogant son of a bitch and I tell you when you are being a pain in the ass, which you are 99% of the time. I'm not afraid to hurt your feelings. You have like a two second rebound rate and you're back to doing the next pain in the ass thing. So it's not going to be easy. It's going to be really hard. And we're going to have to work at this every day. But I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, every day."
My most favorite quote of the movie. Reminds me of someone...

LOVE

Once, for a college paper, my class was asked to choose one word and to try and define it. Of course, I chose the word love. Granted, when I wrote this paper, I was a Junior in highschool taking college courses and I had no earthly idea of what "love" really was. I tried my hardest to write the paper. I wrote on all sorts of things about love: the feelings, the different types and stages, etc. Well surely enough, I chose to define the undefineable. Go me! (insert sarcasm here) My teacher gave me a failing grade but gave me the option to write this paper over again. He gave me the option of choosing another subject or to just rewrite on this less than concrete word. Being the stubborn girl that I am, I stuck with my original subject. I handed in my rewritten, redefined paper and was given a B. I was pretty satisfied because I pretty much defined what my teacher called undefineable.
Now, this little story leads to my story for today.
I know most of my readers expect to see photos, but today is a completely different post. I feel as if I need to redefine myself a little bit. I love to write and I feel as if what better time to write when I'm feeling so loved|in love and I have nothing but time right now.
So here I go, my story of ...
l o v e
Justin and I have been together a little on and off for the past two years. More on than off, but we have had 2 short break ups. The weirdest thing about our relationship is that after each breakup, we as a couple have reinvented ourselves. We started dating my Senior year in high school and it's clear to me now why we have done this repeatedly. We were young, still are, but we've grown.
Within the last run our relationship has had, we have gotten stronger than ever. Justin has been the gentlemen I always knew he could be. (He'd totally squeeze me to death if he were reading this! ) The man is nothing short of opening the door for me, showering me in sweet gifts, random facebook statuses, and tons of surprise lunch dates. He comes to my home before I get home from work or school, and I come home and find my boyfriend by a fire with my Daddy drinking a beer and having a good "man talk". A southern myth is that when you find a man that acts like your father is usually "the one". It just always makes me shake my head when I catch Justin doing something that Daddy does. So strange. My dad is always fond of wrestling-playing around and so is Justin. One night, Justin grabbed me from behind and put me in a gentle headlock and said "Give up yet?!" I swear, my dad did the same thing earlier that afternoon. They're just so much a like. It's strange sometimes!
Anyways, back to us. He has gone so far out of his way to make me happy lately and I'm just so grateful for it.
These days, I've just been so smitten. Like I find it incredibly amazing that I can fall in love with the same man over and over and over again. It's refreshing to see our relationship moving in such a forward direction. I love him with all of my heart, there's not a single little piece of it that doesn't love him. I swear, if my toes could love, they would love him. (That's not in like a toe-fetish way or anything, just thinking of a random body part....like ears would work too, maybe lips ;) )
So where this story leads. I now know the word L O V E. I wish I would have never written that paper because love is something that can't be defined in a paper, no chance. There's no movie or even song that can truly define it because each person has their own definition. Mine is simply that love is when you are with someone that is completely everything you've ever wanted that keeps surprising you with their qualities that you never knew existed. My love makes me smile, even when he's not around or when I'm not talking to him almost every minute of the day. My love is knowing that I'm with a man that is so selfless and I never really realized it until I had to witness it.

I hope you all find a love like mine, if you haven't already. I may still be young, but I know a good thing when I find it.
I mean what kind of boyfriend gives you outrageous Christmas gifts days before Christmas, and there's still more to come?!
Check these out:

The only reason why we exchanged gifts early is because he works on Christmas day and tomorrow night we're going to look at pretty lights at James Island (2 + hours away) and he wanted to be able to get the trunk inside and Thursday he works as well and then Christmas Eve, I get my other gift! And we have tons to do between all of that, so we decided tonight would be nice to relax and enjoy doing some gifts.
The watch: something I have been wanting for quite sometime, but I didn't expect it to be quite as extravagant as this one!
The trunk: I found on Craigslist one random night, I emailed the owner and told Justin about it and it turns out he emailed the owner and told him not to sell it to me because he wanted to buy it for me. I love everything about this piece. It has so much history and it smells so lovely!

Sorry for all of the chattyness!
Love to you all! And Merry Christmas!
Xs & Os!

p.s. As for the Diet Coke ornament, Justin's mom gave it to me last year! I think it may be from Cracker Barrel, but I'm not positive! Glad y'all liked it so much :D

One person's find, is my treasure...

Hello darlings! One exam down, TWO more to go!
Thank you all for your kind words, I promise I'm getting around to responding to you all!
This past weekend, Justin and I went to his work Christmas party. Justin is a firefighter for those that don't know, and I've never seen a more fun group of grown men try to dance! That was by far the most fun Christmas party I've ever been to! There was a couple that the brave firemen rescued from being caught in rip currents on Hunting Island Beach and it's just so, well both amazing and sad at the same time to hear their story. It's incredible that those men put their lives on the line to save complete strangers and that they wake up in the morning to run into burning buildings and it's just another day at their job. It's sad because that's my hero running into those burning buildings and what would I do if he lost his life to the job. Sorry for the somberness, but it was just so great to see these men and women partying it up and enjoying all that they deserve. Thank you to all that serve this country, firefighters, police, military, army, navy, and so on.
My very own hero.

So to today's post:

Ever since I was very young, my Great-grandfather was quite the collector of all things. There was never just one thing that he collected and the best way to sum up his collection is to simply call it, well, junk. Sadly enough to call it that, but there's no better description honestly. You could go back in the woods here on his property and find old stop signs and old tires. If you were to travel behind his home, there are old school busses, and just various odd things.  Well, I think the collection thing carried on to my dad.  Now, Daddy isn't nearly as bad. He just learned how to decipher what was really worth keeping.  So here are a few of the wonders that my dad has kept around.
P.s. I already called dibs on them Andrea, so don't even think about it.
P.s.s. To thank you all for your sweet comments, I literally froze this morning taking some of these pictures outside that my dearest puppy, Duke, wanted to come inside. He does this thing where he jumps up and down outside the door so he can come inside! So cute!

Old scales...

Yes, that is a Dr. Pepper bottle. We have a Mt. Dew as well!

Brays Island Plantation bottle

"For Long Life, practice safety, drink milk"

I used to play with this when I was younger, pretending like it was a teapot

Old camera!

Alright friends! Finals are almost over :D
Love to you all!

P.s.s.
Back to the doggies:

Daisy wishing you a Merry Christmas (with my village!)

Inspiration for Friday

Hello all! Boy do I have a treat for you ;)

I've been reading a lot of inspirational things lately. And everyone is inspired by something different. For me, it's finding something so lovely that just warms my heart. I love things that are filled with beauty.
For my inspiration today, it's non other than the legendary Marilyn Monroe.
She is purley fabulous. She exudes so much fun and wonder. She's so very tounge-in-cheek and she was such a powerful woman.
Once, I took my car to get my windows tinted. The name of the place was Mr. 50s and I want you to imagine a waiting room with walls covered by mostly Marilyn Monroe with a little bit of James Dean and some Elvis. I seriously had to wait for my car for almost 4 hours. During that time, I had no other choice but to stare at this beautiful woman and just think about how much of a powerhouse she really was. As I was sitting there, I was sending texts back and fourth with Justin. I was so captivated by thinking of the world Marilyn lived in. I sent Justin a text saying "You know Marilyn Monroe, she was just so beautiful and she did so much. I wish I could be like that." And he replied back, "You already are and you can do anything." Well something of that sort. I wish I saved that text. But he was right. Just like Marilyn, anyone can make something beautiful of themself.

"We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets."

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."

"If you're gonna be two-faced at least make one of them pretty."

"Beneath the makeup and behind the smile I am just a girl who wishes for the world."

"We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle."

"The real lover is the man who can thrill you by kissing your forehead or smiling into your eyes or just staring into space."

"If I'd observed all the rules I'd never have got anywhere."
She was such an amazing woman. I think each one of us has a special place in this world and we were all meant to do something amazing like Marilyn.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!
Love to you all!
