Thank you all for your kind words, I promise I'm getting around to responding to you all!
This past weekend, Justin and I went to his work Christmas party. Justin is a firefighter for those that don't know, and I've never seen a more fun group of grown men try to dance! That was by far the most fun Christmas party I've ever been to! There was a couple that the brave firemen rescued from being caught in rip currents on Hunting Island Beach and it's just so, well both amazing and sad at the same time to hear their story. It's incredible that those men put their lives on the line to save complete strangers and that they wake up in the morning to run into burning buildings and it's just another day at their job. It's sad because that's my hero running into those burning buildings and what would I do if he lost his life to the job. Sorry for the somberness, but it was just so great to see these men and women partying it up and enjoying all that they deserve. Thank you to all that serve this country, firefighters, police, military, army, navy, and so on.
My very own hero. |
So to today's post:
Ever since I was very young, my Great-grandfather was quite the collector of all things. There was never just one thing that he collected and the best way to sum up his collection is to simply call it, well, junk. Sadly enough to call it that, but there's no better description honestly. You could go back in the woods here on his property and find old stop signs and old tires. If you were to travel behind his home, there are old school busses, and just various odd things. Well, I think the collection thing carried on to my dad. Now, Daddy isn't nearly as bad. He just learned how to decipher what was really worth keeping. So here are a few of the wonders that my dad has kept around.
P.s. I already called dibs on them Andrea, so don't even think about it.
P.s.s. To thank you all for your sweet comments, I literally froze this morning taking some of these pictures outside that my dearest puppy, Duke, wanted to come inside. He does this thing where he jumps up and down outside the door so he can come inside! So cute!

Wow, first of all you're married to a firefighter! That's hot.
ReplyDeleteSecond, WOW. These finds are AMAZING.
I know what you mean when you talk about Justin. My boyfriend, Zack is in the military and though I'm SUPER proud of him, I'm also terrified at the prospect of something horrible happening to him. I think, it helps to take comfort in the fact that he would be saving countless lives over the course of his career. Cherish every moment you have with him! :] Good luck with the rest of finals! I haven't even started mine yet!! Christmas break is almost here!!!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness! I love all that old stuff especially the soda bottles :)

ReplyDeleteLove your blog (I'm your newest follower)! The photographs of the antiques reminds me of the random old things I would find on our family farm in Indiana as a kid. The funny thing to me is how people sell them for an arm and a leg in antique shops!
