The Smell of Cookies ...

...is probably one of my most favorite smells ever!

The smell of cookies baking in the oven signify all sorts of goodness. It reminds me of smiles, silly dancing, singing, indulging in tasty cookie doughy goodness, and a lot of fun times.
Yesterday, I woke up to a hungry firemen on the other line of the phone. "Can you bring us like 20 sandwiches and a ton of sugar cookies?" Surely enough, I was in the Christmas spirit. I jumped out of bed and immediately started making "tons" of cookies and "like 20 sandwiches" which really turned out to be 5 and a batch of cookies. I loaded up and Andrea hopped in the car with me. We rode off to Lady's Island, Andrea wore a Santa hat and the whole way there, she felt the need to scream out the window "Merry Christmas!!!" It was like we were off to deliver presents to these hungry firemen! They were so excited when we got there. It took seconds for the cookies to be opened and before I could say "mistletoe", Justin already had a sandwich in his hand. It felt so good to give. I just want to find more ways to give even more. Not quite sure how to do this yet, but I want to.
So, once we got home, I was nowhere near being all cookie-d out. Andrea and I started baking another batch. Only after an impromptu photo shoot with Daisy!

Ohhhh yeah! We got a little camera happy! But how can you not when you have a doggie as cute as Daisy! We had a blast!

Andrea got Mom!

Today, I cut firewood with Justin. This girl drove a tractor all by herself! Totally made my day!
Hope you all have a fantastic Thursday! Tomorrow I'll be working all day!
Try to stay warm darlings!

One person's find, is my treasure...

Hello darlings! One exam down, TWO more to go!
Thank you all for your kind words, I promise I'm getting around to responding to you all!
This past weekend, Justin and I went to his work Christmas party. Justin is a firefighter for those that don't know, and I've never seen a more fun group of grown men try to dance! That was by far the most fun Christmas party I've ever been to! There was a couple that the brave firemen rescued from being caught in rip currents on Hunting Island Beach and it's just so, well both amazing and sad at the same time to hear their story. It's incredible that those men put their lives on the line to save complete strangers and that they wake up in the morning to run into burning buildings and it's just another day at their job. It's sad because that's my hero running into those burning buildings and what would I do if he lost his life to the job. Sorry for the somberness, but it was just so great to see these men and women partying it up and enjoying all that they deserve. Thank you to all that serve this country, firefighters, police, military, army, navy, and so on.
My very own hero.

So to today's post:

Ever since I was very young, my Great-grandfather was quite the collector of all things. There was never just one thing that he collected and the best way to sum up his collection is to simply call it, well, junk. Sadly enough to call it that, but there's no better description honestly. You could go back in the woods here on his property and find old stop signs and old tires. If you were to travel behind his home, there are old school busses, and just various odd things.  Well, I think the collection thing carried on to my dad.  Now, Daddy isn't nearly as bad. He just learned how to decipher what was really worth keeping.  So here are a few of the wonders that my dad has kept around.
P.s. I already called dibs on them Andrea, so don't even think about it.
P.s.s. To thank you all for your sweet comments, I literally froze this morning taking some of these pictures outside that my dearest puppy, Duke, wanted to come inside. He does this thing where he jumps up and down outside the door so he can come inside! So cute!

Old scales...

Yes, that is a Dr. Pepper bottle. We have a Mt. Dew as well!

Brays Island Plantation bottle

"For Long Life, practice safety, drink milk"

I used to play with this when I was younger, pretending like it was a teapot

Old camera!

Alright friends! Finals are almost over :D
Love to you all!

Back to the doggies:

Daisy wishing you a Merry Christmas (with my village!)

Ode to Monday

Monday,
So ecstatic that you are coming to an end. You were quite a disappointment today. First I go to class to find out that exams are next week. Now, I knew in the back of my mind that exams were to take place next week, but I never wanted to believe it. So, Monday, you made me face it. Shame on you.  Next, you threw all of these yucky projects in my face. Shame on you, twice! Then you gave me the realization that this is going to be a long and painful week that needs to hurry on up! You have given me a week of having my day planner glued to my hip full of deadlines and project due dates. I must say, I am seriously looking forward to our departure once these two weeks are over.
With all my love (and sarcasm, clearly),
Amy

In other notes,

Since I am so extremely busy with all of these things, tonight's post will be short and sweet.
You see that little pup up there, well that's the sweet my loves!
Isn't she though?! I used that picture of Daisy last year for my Christmas cards. Ooooh she sure did make a few hearts melt.

Hope your Monday was much better than mine!
More soon, I pinky promise :)
